PROOF THAT FOREST PRODUCTS COME FROM RESPONSIBLY MANAGED FORESTS

Both the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) provide certification for forestry management companies. They also provide ‘chain of custody’ certification for businesses that add value to forestry products. Chain of custody certification allows forestry-based products to be tracked from the certified forest to the end product and vice-versa.

COMMERCIAL ADVANTAGE FOR THOSE WHO WORK WITH WOOD, PAPER OR CARDBOARD

Being able to say that your product is certified by FSC or PEFC can give you a head start in the market. Increasingly, customers are looking for proof that wood, paper and card products can be traced back to a responsibly-managed forest. In New Zealand, a huge number of businesses could benefit from FSC or PEFC certification. They include home builders, furniture makers, toy makers, fencing companies, cabinet makers, printers, paper supply companies, timber mills, MDF manufacturers, building trade supply companies, packaging companies and many more.
