Purpose

Receive concentrated and comprehensive training in the theory and practice of auditing Quality Management Systems (QMSs) based on ISO 9001:2008. Gain a practical understanding of the responsibilities of a quality auditor, and the techniques and methodologies required to effectively audit a QMS.

This course is part of the learning pathway leading to BSB51607 Diploma of Quality Auditing. Please refer to the Qualification Outline here for further details.

Course Outline

This course covers the following topics:

  • How to apply QMS audit principles and practices to ISO 9001
  • The personal and interpersonal skills required for auditing
  • The processes involved with managing audit programs
  • How to initiate and prepare for an audit
  • How to conduct on-site audit activities, reporting on audit findings and conducting post-audit activities
  • Appropriate oral, written and non-verbal communication techniques needed to lead an audit

Prerequisites

A working knowledge of ISO 9001 is required before attendance. The number of participants for each course is restricted to ensure a trainer / student ratio that will facilitate effective training outcomes.

Pre-Requisites

A strong working knowledge of and/or experience working with ISO 9001 is desirable.

NB: Access to a workplace is required in order to be able to complete the post-course assessment.
