Asbestos Class A audit requirements

All Class A asbestos removers must conduct a Health & Safety Audit against either AS/NZS 4801 or OHSAS 18001 and the requirements of the regulations by April 2018.  Any Class A asbestos removal company operating without being certified by this date is liable for prosecution.

These audits are a 2 stage approach.

  • First is a Stage 1 Audit which is approximately 4 hours on site followed by a detailed report that will identify any non-conformances.
  • This is followed by a Stage 2 Audit.  This audit will include business sites and a sample of any projects you may have on the go.  Any non-conformances will be identified within the robust report.

Once all non-conformances are closed out your certificate will be issued and we will register you on the JAS-ANZ register.

The below links may help you conduct a self-evaluation and identify the requirements needed to comply to the regulations.
